Coaching is a vehicle for learning and change. Through her coaching training and her experience in various fields, including law, public service, teaching and entrepreneurship, Linda brings the skills needed to fulfill the various roles that a coach can play in a client engagement. Depending on the circumstances, a coach may facilitate (as in advancing an executive’s agenda), inquire (in relation to challenging beliefs), or transmit skills and information (when coaching for skills). Some of the benefits of coaching Linda has observed include increased confidence, taking action on desired goals and the development of new and effective habits of thinking and acting. Linda’s coaching practice addresses issues such as career management and transition, workplace issues, work/life balance and entrepreneurial challenges. She also has a specialty practice for legal professionals concerning career advancement in, or transition from, the field of law.
Linda spent over 20 years in the legal industry, where her career ran the gamut from paralegal to partner. She has a wide range of experience from both corporate and private practice in legal matters such as contracts, litigation, advertising, intellectual property, internet law, licensing, employment law and corporate governance. Given the demands of legal practice, her coaching skills are particularly helpful for those dealing with issues such as time management and work/life balance.
In her public service experience as a councilwoman, Linda chaired the human relations, public safety and administration committees. As a result, she is competent in leading committees and interacting with a large and diverse constituency. These attributes are particularly useful in facilitating organizational coaching engagements.
As an adjunct instructor, Linda has experience relating to diverse groups of individuals, developing course curricula and learning modules, and mentoring adult learners.
In addition to her coaching practice, her entrepreneurial activites include a successful venture involving merchandising, blogging and podcasting. She also provides consulting services to businesses related to trademarks and branding. As a busy entrepreneur, Linda understands the many demands facing fellow business owners, such as business development, financial planning, clerical administration, and work/life balance.
Linda received her coaching training at New York University’s Center for Leadership and Human Capital Management. In addition to her memberships in the International Coach Federation and the New Jersey Professional Coaches Association, she is an active member of the National Resume Writers’ Association and produces resumes, cover letters and other marketing tools for clients. An accomplished writer, samples of her cover letters will appear in the upcoming third edition of Cover Letters for Dummies.
